A Family-Rooted, Community Cemetery Serving Southeast Wisconsin Since 1852
Caldwell Cemetery was established in 1852 on farmland generously donated by the Horace Greeley Family. It was founded as an open, non-denominational local community cemetery — welcoming all faiths and families from across the region.
The cemetery has been lovingly maintained across six generations by the descendants of benefactor Warren E. Hansen, Sr. What began as a small rural burial ground has grown into a trusted place of remembrance for families throughout Racine County and the surrounding communities.
Today the cemetery covers five peaceful acres just south of Caldwell, in the Town of Waterford. Access is provided via County Trunk Highway ‘O,’ which directly abuts two paved driveway entrances.
Our mission is simple: to provide a dignified, affordable, and beautifully maintained final resting place for the families of southeast Wisconsin. We are not affiliated with any religious denomination, and we welcome all people regardless of faith or background.
We do not seek to expand aggressively or compete commercially. We serve the local, rural community — including families with ties to this land dating back to the 1800s — with quiet dedication and genuine care.
Caldwell Cemetery is operated by a four-member board of directors. The board meets annually to review all aspects of operations and maintenance, and to ensure full compliance with Wisconsin state and local regulations.

We are not looking to expand beyond southeast Wisconsin. Our focus remains on providing personal, attentive service to the people who call this region home.
